Apple CEO Steve Jobs once famously said mobile advertising “sucks.” Now, he’s out to change that with the introduction of an ad network called iAd. Apple, which bought mobile ad network Quattro Wireless for $250 million in January, plans to offer iAd to application developers. The ads will differ from many standard mobile banners because tapping on them won’t cause users to leave the applications. Instead, brands can provide various interactive elements in displays that pop up over the application pages. read more …

Diet Coke has recently introduced a new TV ad campaign conceived by the renowned UK based adverstising agency “Mother London” .The new campaign celebrates fun and fashion that encourages consumers to ‘Love It Light’ and celebrate the lighter side of life. Set to liven up the TV ad breaks from Sunday 14th March, the entertaining creative ad is intended to give women an instant moment of pleasure and ‘pick me up’ using humour, music, fashion and the latest diet Coke stars – three gorgeous marionettes. The whole ad is also a creative spoof on the recently discontinued “Ugly Betty” series. read more …

Since forming in 2003, Warsaw-based studio Homework has been creating posters for cultural events. Aware of Poland’s renowned legacy in poster design but with no intentions to be part of it, the work they create nods to the simple visual puns of Mieczysław Wasilewski and the playful illustrative style of Witkor Gorka. However, rather than exist in homage to their predecessors, Joanna Górska and Jerzy Skakun have created a distinctive style that has seen them garner prizes at poster biennials across the world as well as gallery exhibitions in Paris and Berlin. read more …

Dr Pepper Snapple Group has shifted creative duties on its A&W, Canada Dry and Sunkist brands to Mcgarrybowen from Young & Rubicam, leaving Y&R with a single client brand: 7Up. The shift adds a new agency to the beverage company’s core roster of creative shops, which expands from three to four. Mcgarrybowen, a unit of Dentsu, will handle the business out of its New York office. The brands are exiting the San Francisco office of WPP Group’s Y&R, which also handles 7Up. read more …
